Buyer demand already ahead this New Year

Buyer demand through increased numbers of viewings and sales so far in 2024 compared with the same time last year, has resulted in a really strong start to the year for our clients here at Beadnall Copley. The same has been reported nationally by Zoopla who confirm that figures on their portal have revealed buyer demand in the New Year is 15% ahead of early 2023 and new sales agreed are up 16%.
Usually at this time of year buyers have several motivations for making a move including a ‘New Year, New Start’ house search, moving for school catchment areas and those wishing to downsize. What is certainly helping the market is the well-received news that high street lenders are further reducing their mortgage rates, with some predicting this will lead to a mortgage price war, ultimately giving buyers much more confidence to make 2024 the year to move home.
This increased level of activity means that if you’re looking to sell this year now really is a good time to get on the market for sale as buyers are out in force actively looking for their perfect home, perhaps even one like yours.
