In this policy all references to ‘we’ means Beadnall Copley Estate & Letting Agents.  Beadnall Copley is the trading name of Beadnall Copley Ltd (operating in residential sales) and Beadnall Copley Lettings Ltd (operating in the letting and management of property)

 

  1.  This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any personal information you give us.
  2. We are committed to protecting your privacy in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.  The personal information you give us will only be used in line with this privacy policy.

In this policy when we refer to ‘your information’ we mean personal information about you and your connection to Beadnall Copley as a vendor or potential vendor, applicant or potential applicant, which we may collect, use, share, store or process but which will not be passed on to any third party without your prior permission being granted.  Third party examples are professional photographers and energy performance inspectors who would require your details as part of the arrangements to market your property.  This includes information we get from you when you contact us to discuss your property sale or property buying requirements through any type of communication – verbal, written or electronic – including through letters, telephone calls, emails, visits to any of our showroom/offices, websites (for instance through Beadnall Copley or Rightmove websites), registrations and promotions.
  5. When we are given someone else’s personal information (such as another Estate Agent giving information about their vendor involved in one of our chain of sales) we accept that information on the understanding that they have complied with the Data Protection Act and that it is fair and lawful for them to give that information to us and for us to use it as described in this privacy policy.  We will record and use any information given to us about someone else in the same way we record and use your information.
  6. We may collect, use, share, store and otherwise process your information to:

a)     Check that you are eligible to purchase property

b)     Check your, your partners’, your Directors’ identity and business status

c)     Manage your property marketing and sale progression, including processing any payments you make to us in relation to that

d)     Make sure that the records we hold for you are as accurate as possible

e)     Develop and improve our services to you

f)      Respond to any questions you ask or complaints you make, and

g)     Protect our interests including finding you and recovering any debts you owe, checking details we hold about you and processing and collecting charges.

  1. We will keep your information private and confidential, but we may share it as follows:

a)     With The Property Ombudsman to meet our duties as a member of The Ombudsman.

b)     With other authorities as required such as the National Crime Agency and Police, if we have a duty to do so or if the law or public interest allows us to do so.

c)     With anyone we transfer information or our rights and duties under this agreement.

d)     In line with any permission you have given us.
